The Missionary Supervisor

Georgia Elaine McNair Thompson was born in Williamston, North Carolina, and reared in Plymouth, North Carolina. The oldest of two brothers and one sister.
Home conference s Albermarle Conference. Home Churches: Bethlehem A.M.E. Zion and Mt. Hebron A.M.E. Zion Churches.
Graduated from Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC, with a BA degree in English. Received a MA degree in Counseling from Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg, VA. Certified for Middle School by the National Louis University, Evanston, IL.
Taught in the public schools of Oklahoma City, OK. Retired from the Washington, DC school system on June 30, 2004, after 30 years and 9 months.
Holds membership in the D.C. Council and National Council Teachers of English. On the Executive Board of the Woman's Home and Overseas Missionary Society.
As a pastor's wife, traveled extensively with her husband and served faithfully in the churches that he pastored: Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, choir member, Superintendent of the Buds and Coordinator of YAMS. Was Coordinator of the YAMS for Washington District West, Philadelphia-Baltimore Conference when Bishop Thompson was elected Bishop in July 1992.
In addition to being the wife of Bishop Richard K. Thompson, she is the mother of Kerri Elaine, an attorney with the Department of Transportation for the state of New Jersey, and Richard Keith, II, who is a program analyst for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. Mother-in-law for Rev. Keith D. Tillett, pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church, Trenton. Grandmother of Laci Nicole, Lawrence Earl and Kyndal Elaine.
